After you have submitted your book proposal (See ‘Submitting A Book Proposal’) and we agree to publish your work, we will examine the form (see Submitting a book proposal) concerning your preference for an ISBN and EAN barcode, copyright, and
registration with the Library of Congress (this will allow your book to be sold
online and ensure that no one steals your work). After its review, we will give
you an estimated price for publishing your book. (If you want an estimated quote
before sending in a book proposal, email us.)
-
You will then submit a finished draft of your book on CD in Microsoft Word, New Times Roman, 12 font. Include any art, pictures and colors in separate
jpeg files with instructions on where they are to be placed. Make sure that your
pages are not numbered since this will conflict with the page numbers dictated through our
own software.
-
You will also include 3 files on the same CD:
-
An Author’s Bio blog to be placed on the back of your book. This blog is short, one paragraph, letting your audience know who you are (and your credentials).
-
A Book Summary to be placed above the Author’s Bio. This is also a blog to inform readers what is contained within the book.
-
A head-shot (if you desire) to better familiarize your audience with you and any graphics (and/or pictures) you wish to place in the book.
Note: All graphics that belong within the text
are not to be included in the text, but in a different file
(jpeg)
with an explanation as to where each of the graphics are to be placed. This ensures that when we convert your
Microsoft Word file into our program, your graphics will not be lost or misplaced.
-
After editing your book, we will kick it back to you for your review. We will continue this exchange until you are satisfied.
-
When you have decided the book is finished and ready for the printer, a graphic designer will contact you and discuss your book cover ideas.
-
After a book cover has been designed, we will then send you a copy of your book cover for your approval.
-
When the book and cover is formatted and finished and ready to be sent to the printer, you will mail a check to us or pay with a card. Once the book has been printed, there can be no refunds. (Making editorial or content changes to the manuscript or book’s cover once it has been sent to the printer is tedious and very expensive. We strongly advise you to have your book in it’s final form before allowing us to send it to our printers.)
-
The time it takes to publish and print the book depends on the number of exchanges between the author and editors. The faster your return your work, the faster we can publish it. Once the product is final, it usually takes approximately 4 weeks for paperback and 6 weeks for hardback to be printed and shipped.
-
After the book is printed and packaged, we send you the books and offer a continual partnership with you in your sales through our online bookstore as well as our booths
at national conferences and conventions.
