William & Keats Publishing

...a grassroots company

About Us

We are a staff of editors and authors interested in "books that make a difference." We have been writing and editing on the professional level for over ten years, with experience in publishing, international speech writing, and public speaking. All our staff have served in humanitarian or non-profit work, and we're a proud sponsor of Lifebread.org. We are interested in all genres of literature, so if you’re unsure if your work is W&K material, just ask. “Don’t worry– we’ll take care of you.”

We are both a traditional and independent publishing company. We only focus on publishing 3-4 books a year due to our desire to fully represent our clients, providing them with daily accessibility such as personal consultation and a healthy working relationship.

Our main mission is to launch their work into national bookstores, advise the construction of their marketing platform throughout the first year, and then organize book and speaking tours. We have chosen to begin every author in independent publishing first, and as they grow and prove themselves as dedicated authors, we then offer to purchase their manuscript, bringing them into the traditional publishing arena.

Independent publishing is growing more in popularity due to access to post-modern technology such as websites, blogs, online bookstores, and e-books. In recent years, 1/3 of all books have been published individually. We believe that within the next five years, more established authors will be turning to independent publishing, which allows greater control of royalties.

Our Goals

We teach our authors to never believe their book’s pitch is based on the opinion of interns working for corporate publishers who receive over 1,000 manuscripts a day. All books you find on the shelves of stores are chosen by the manager due to the established selling reputation of the author. Shelf-space does not equal quality books.

Agents and mega-publishing houses choose to publish books by authors with a platform (how many thousands of people are awaiting to buy the client's book). While these companies correlate numbers with success, we will correlate invested relationships, quality books, and full promotion with success.

We provide our authors with personal counsel and a partnership, where we work together in promoting their book to it's maximum potential. But remember, we publish a select few, and our authors are those whose goals are to leave a positive impact on society.
